The purpose of the call is to support the production of new works in the field of sound walks by Slovenian or Slovenia-based artists.
Cona will provide the selected proposal with production funds, an artist fee, artistic mentorship or a professional consultation, a location for the realization of the work, and promotional support. One or at most two proposals will be selected and presented to the public at the TO)pot Festival in 2026. For any additional questions, please contact us at info@cona.si.
What is a sound walk?
A sound or audio walk encompasses a wide range of artistic practices that are primarily based on sensitizing space through listening and walking.
There are many forms of such practices: sound and audio walks, in situ listening, walking and listening performances, deep listening, and more. This open call addresses all of these formats.
It is essential that the work includes a final sound-performative walk at a selected location, not merely a “score” for walking. It is also important that the artist wishes to collaborate actively with the Cona team during the production phase.
TO)pot festival
The TO)pot festival of radical soundwalks connects artists, theorists, and curious walkers with spaces and more-than-human entities, approaching walking and listening as a spatial realization of place.
Walking as a practice of grounding and attuning to space and the environment becomes a radical attempt to slow down the everyday social tempo.
